- Academic / STEM
- Languages & humanities
Each DSA choice pairs a school with a talent area (max two of three for the same school). A confirmed child must still sit the PSLE and cannot join S1 posting.
Based on MOE — DSA-Sec. As of October 2026. Dates are the 2026 exercise (for 2027 entry) — confirm current-year windows on MOE.
How it works
The checklist covers the stable parts of a DSA-Sec application — confirming a genuine talent, shortlisting up to three school-and-talent choices (at most two for the same school), preparing one parent’s Singpass for the free online application, gathering evidence, and understanding the commitment. Ticking items updates your progress.
The timeline lists the official stages in order (Source: MOE): apply → selection → outcomes → school preferences → allocation. The specific dates shown are the verified 2026 exercise (for 2027 secondary entry) and are provided as a reference point.
A worked example
Illustrative. A parent preparing a swimmer ticks “confirm talent”, “shortlist choices” and “prepare Singpass”, reaching 3 of 8 steps. The tool shows the next task — “gather evidence for the talent” — and the timeline reminds them that selection trials run from late June to August, with outcomes by late August.
Limits of this estimate
- Exact application, outcome and preference windows change every year — always confirm them on MOE’s DSA-Sec page for your cohort.
- Each school sets its own talent areas and selection process; this tool does not list per-school requirements.
- A DSA offer is conditional: the child must still meet a PSLE score within a Posting Group the school offers.
