P1 Phase Finder: Which Phase Are You Eligible For

Short answer

Tell the tool your child's citizenship and any tie to the school — sibling, alumni, staff, volunteer and so on — and it lists every P1 registration phase your child may register in, highlighting the earliest (strongest-priority) one.

On this page (4 sections)

Pick your child’s citizenship and tick any tie you have to the school to see which P1 registration phases apply.

A walkthrough of MOE's published phase criteria — it shows eligibility, not whether a place is secured (oversubscribed phases still go to citizenship and home-school distance).

Based on MOE — P1 registration. As of October 2026. Shows eligibility under MOE's published criteria — not whether a place is secured.

How it works

The finder applies MOE’s published phase criteria in order. For a Singapore Citizen or PR child:

Phase Eligible when
Phase 1 A sibling is currently in the school.
Phase 2A A parent/sibling is an alumnus; a parent is on the School Advisory/Management Committee; a parent is staff; or the child is from the school’s MOE Kindergarten.
Phase 2B A parent is a qualifying parent volunteer, a connected church/clan member, or an endorsed active community leader.
Phase 2C Open to all — every local child may register.
Phase 2C Supplementary A child still unregistered after Phase 2C.
Phase 3 International students only.

It then marks each phase eligible or not and highlights the earliest one you qualify for, because registering early gives the best priority.

A worked example

Illustrative. A Singapore Citizen family with no sibling in the school and no alumni, staff or volunteer tie is not eligible for Phases 1, 2A or 2B. They are eligible for Phase 2C (open to all) and Phase 2C Supplementary, so the tool flags Phase 2C as the earliest phase to register in.

Limits of this estimate

  • It checks eligibility, not success. From Phase 2B onwards, an oversubscribed phase is settled by citizenship then home-school distance, with balloting.
  • Parent-volunteer and community-leader routes have extra conditions (service hours, endorsement) — confirm them on MOE’s page.
  • MOE is revising the framework from the 2027 exercise (P1 in 2028); check the current rules for your registration year.
