PSLE AL Score Calculator
Add the four subject Achievement Levels (AL1–AL8) to get the PSLE Score, from 4 (best) to 32. This calculator does the sum and shows the indicative Posting Group — it never predicts a specific school.

Enter the Achievement Level for each of the four PSLE subjects to get the total PSLE Score and the Posting Group it points to.
PSLE AL score calculator
Based on MOE — PSLE scoring system. As of October 2026. Estimate of the scoring mechanism only — it does not predict a school posting.
How it is calculated
Each of the four subjects — English, Mathematics, Science and Mother Tongue — is graded into one of eight Achievement Levels from its raw mark, using the same reference table (Source: MOE/SEAB):
| Achievement Level | Reference raw mark |
|---|---|
| AL1 | 90 and above |
| AL2 | 85 – 89 |
| AL3 | 80 – 84 |
| AL4 | 75 – 79 |
| AL5 | 65 – 74 |
| AL6 | 45 – 64 |
| AL7 | 20 – 44 |
| AL8 | Below 20 |
The PSLE Score is the sum of the four subject ALs (4 best … 32). Foundation-level grades map in as A = AL6, B = AL7, C = AL8. The score then points to a Posting Group under Full Subject-Based Banding (Source: MOE):
| PSLE Score | Posting Group | Starting level |
|---|---|---|
| 4 – 20 | 3 | G3 |
| 21 – 22 | 2 or 3 | G2 or G3 |
| 23 – 24 | 2 | G2 |
| 25 | 1 or 2 | G1 or G2 |
| 26 – 32 (AL7+ in English & Maths) | 1 | G1 |
A worked example
Illustrative. A child scores English AL2, Mathematics AL1, Science AL2 and Mother Tongue AL3. The PSLE Score is 2 + 1 + 2 + 3 = 8, which falls in the 4–20 band, pointing to Posting Group 3 (starting level G3).
Limits of this estimate
- It converts ALs you enter; it does not read raw marks or apply any moderation.
- It shows the mechanism, not a school. The only reliable per-school cut-off points are MOE’s own figures, published each December.
- Posting also depends on your choice order and vacancies, and tie-breakers decide the last places.
